Our Biblical  Beliefs

Inspiration of the Scriptures: We believe that in its original autographs, the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God and was preserved from all error making it infallible and completely accurate on every matter it deals with (2 Peter 1:20, 21, John 14:26). God has preserved His word for us today so that we have an accurate translation of Scripture that is infallible in all areas it deals with. The 66 books of the Bible were God-breathed and are the only absolute authority for our Christian life, practice and doctrine.

The God-head: We believe in the one triune God having one nature (Deut. 6:4), yet existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are co-equal in power, honour and glory, having the same attributes (Matt. 28:19, 2 Cor. 13:14).

Christ: We believe Jesus Christ is God the Son, that He came to earth born of a virgin (Matt. 1:23), that He was God in the flesh (John 1:14), and that He came to earth to die on the cross for the sins of the world. He led a sinless life, was crucified as our substitutionary sacrifice, was bodily resurrected on the third day for our justification, and has ascended to Heaven and now sits at the Father’s right hand. He alone is our mediator (1 Tim. 2:5) and advocate with the Father (1 John 2:1, Romans 4:24,25).

Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is God. He testifies of and glorifies Christ. He convicts of sin and is the teacher and guide in divine truth (John 16:13). He regenerates the sinner to newness of life (Titus 3:5) and indwells the believer (1 Cor. 3:16, Romans 8:9).

Man: We believe man was created by the direct act of God. By choice man sinned against God in the Garden of Eden, and sin passed upon all Adam’s descendants (Romans 5:12). Man is unable to save himself from the penalty of sin which is death and is in need of a savior.

Salvation: We believe salvation is provided by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Those who receive Christ as their personal savior have everlasting life. No one can enter into the kingdom of Heaven except by the blood of Christ. We believe we can rejoice in the assurance of salvation, but clearly understand Scripture forbids the use of eternal life as an excuse to sin (Romans 13:13-14, Galatians 5:13, Acts 4:12, Titus 2:11-15, John 14:6).

Separation: We believe that all the saved should live a life of godly separation from the influences of the world (2 Cor. 6:14-18). We are in the world but no of it. Our separation from the world should be done out of love for the Lord (1 John 2:15-17). There is also the separation from those who teach false doctrine by their words or practices. We are not to be associated with false teaching in any way (Gal. 1:8,9, 2 John 9-11). Scripture teaches there is a separation from continually disobedient brethren ( 2 Thess. 3:6,14,15, 1 Cor. 5:11). Christians who violate scripture by action or word are to be dealt with according to Matthew 18:15-17. If a Christian refuses to confess and turn from the disobedience to scripture, we are commanded to withdraw fellowship from them. Separation from true believers is to be done in love and not in pride or self-righteousness.

Ordinances: We believe in the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is to be by immersion and only after salvation. Baptism does not save us, but it is an outward testimony of the inward reality of salvation (Acts 8:36-37, Romans 6:3-5). The Lord’s Supper is the remembrance of the body of Christ that was broken for us and the blood of Christ that was shed for our sin (Luke 22:17-20, 1 Cor. 11:23-26). Baptism and the Lord’s Supper do not save us, but all believers should be baptized and be allowed to partake of the Lord’s Supper.

The Second Coming: We believe in the personal, imminent, premillenial, pretribulation return of Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones (1 Thess. 4:13-18), and His revelation at the end of the Tribulation (Rev. 19:11-16). We believe in the literal thousand year reign of Christ on the earth after which will be the Great White Throne Judgement. Following the judgement will be the creation of the new heaven and earth, the eternal state. Those who have accepted Christ as their savior will spend eternity with the Lord, while those who did not accept Christ will be forever separated from the Lord in punishment in the Lake of fire and brimstone (Revelation Chapters 19-21).
